I digress, I'm pretty focused on what I do for fun. Fun is tough work sometimes. Reading, PC gaming and music are THE top three things. That's it, next....
Just kidding. Does troublemaker and general shenanigan's count as activities...I think my husband would say YES it does. I would really not enjoy living with me, lol. I can be a pain in the bum. It's all part of my charm...yeah, that's what we'll call it.
The books I read are extremely varied in the genre department. If pushed in a corner and forced to choose a favourite author, I would have to go with HP Lovecraft. Not quite a novelist, more short stories...I just love they way he spins his tales. I enjoy the classics as well, biographies, stuff on history (especially WW2) and odd off the wall books. How many people do you know that read a book about the Black Death and enjoyed it? I enjoyed that book so much my Dad got me a T-shirt referring to it. Some of my books are very unassuming, while others are why on earth would anyone want to read that?! The answer, to learn. I love learning. I read novels, but I also read a lot more biographies and histories because I love to learn. I am currently reading a fun book: Ray Bradbury's Something Wicked This Way Comes. Very good so far...creepy carnival...it would go perfect with Midnight Syndicate's Carnival Arcane..
How bout that for a segue?! Pretty clever, eh? I love music...all kinds of music. My playlist is beyond a sneeze splatter for genres. I can't really give you a favourite band...there are too many. Just...too...many....I'm really enjoying Imagine Dragons and Breaking Benjamin's new(ish) albums...funny we still call them albums when they don't drop on vinyl anymore...Either way, I listen to a lot of different types of music...the only thing I am not partial to, but I have a few quasi ones is rap.
Gaming! Specifically PC gaming. I don't own any consoles, well actually I do, but I don't have a TV to play them on...quit looking at me like that...no I don't own a TV. I can watch things on the interwebs. DVD's play fine on the PC, too. Stop distracting me with your judgy "she doesn't OWN a TV looks". So my top games right now are ((drum roll))...Guild Wars 2 and Cities Skylines. Guild Wars 2 I play with my husband and our awesome friends. We have TOO much fun on Skype and probably say "Hi" to the NSA at least once a week, if not more...I think they listen in just for our shenanigan's. Another really awesome under the radar game is Don't Starve/Don't Starve Together...a campy/kitschy little survival game with some amazing art. I love that game, it for sure inspires my art. Cities Skylines is what EA should have done with their Sim City reboot. I miss Maxis before it went under EA. I used to play the Sims...but EA screwed that all up for me and I now shy away from any game published under their banner. I've been playing MMO's since the very start Ultima Online...way back when...wow did I just give away my age, or what? Still not telling....nope nope nope!! I've been playing video games since the year my parents got my brother and I Atari 2600...yup final nail in the coffin of the age category...lol! Adventure, Pitfall and Pacman...Oh my! I am a girl gamer...I was a very rare creature up until now...I still like to think I blazed the trails for all of us gals out there that love to game.
I will wrap this up here...before the eye strain gets too horrible. So those are my top three things I do when I am not arting. Next on The Noggin'...I have no clue.
