In the arty art news, I didn't do much on my quasi-weekend. I have been trying to take actual days off, I use them more for networking and such. Plan on working on some new stuff...and maybe pulling out that main piece...it hasn't been calling to me as of late, so I haven't been trying to force it. Forcing art is not good. I actually trashed 2 pieces of art that were ready to go yesterday. Why? Well at first I thought yup, these are good. Then on a second go over, yes I go over my art more than once, they just weren't strong enough...or dynamic at all. So into the recycle bin of no return they went. It happens. A lot, usually on the first go over, but sometimes on the second one. Rule of me: Need to let them sit a bit, then go over them with fresh eyes and see if they are just as strong as you thought they were when you first created them. Not sure how many artists' do what I do. Am I unique? I have no clue. Do I care? Not really, because everyone has their own methods of arty madness that works for them.
There is a huge upcoming sale over at Society 6 that starts on Friday. While there will be other sales, this one will be the biggest one until the Black Friday sale. Four days of savings...plus new art up, too. Two new pieces to feast your wallets on and on a plethora of product. Something for everyone! I'll be posting the sales on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram when it begins, so make sure you follow one or all of them to keep up to date. This is the pre-warning sale that I just happened to get an email for while uploading the 2 new pieces on Society 6.
In more news, the plague seems to be pretty much gone. A bit of issues, but nothing major anymore. I'm still going to be working my way back up to a full workout, I'm still a bit weak from this plague. UGH! I figure it will take about a month to get back to full speed, especially since the plague is still in it's death throes and I have ninja allergies. I'm just glad the plague has passed...it was yucky. In other, other news...almost done with the second Metro trilogy book...Wow. Despite the poor editing, it was translated from Russian...fantastic. It wasn't poor, I've seen worse, but there are annoyances in the words that they decided to break apart that didn't need to be. A few weird grammatical sentences. The story itself...really fueling my creative fires. The second of the series was the hardest to find...my Dad and I both had to hunt, he was victorious on finding it. I passed the peanut gallery so now I have to keep my pie hole shut while he catches up. I will be starting the final book hopefully today. I highly recommend it. It's got a bit of everything. It has it's lulls and then all hell breaks loose. I loved the first one...the second one isn't as strong, but still very good. That is all for my Amanda's book reviews. I read so many books, but this one was worth a mention.
On that note, my minions, I shall leave you to your hump day. I will be posting on my other sites on Friday to announce the sale and details. So remember those buttons or the links I provided in this blog. Until Monday...
