I got a very cool email from one of the hosts of the show I was mentioning last blog. Their latest show to create to! I admit, I was excited...SQUEE excited. I admit it...lol. It was an awesome show! Thanks Brian, again! (If you are even reading this, if not, well thanks anyways!) Okay so if you missed it, the show is KBIM Paranormal Talk Radio: The Pat and Brian Show. It's on Wednesday's at 10pm PST...the PST is why I listen to the re-runs on Shoutcast or Musicplayon. I'm a sissy east coaster...I cannot for the life of me or all the coffee that is consumed stay up until 1am...it ends at 3am. Way past this gal's bed time...again, I'm a sissy. I need my sleep. Anyways...
While listening to the newest and first show of the year...I was Tradoodling. Just letting things go and inspiration hit me over the head. I also got a great new song for my play list. Score! I've been sketching, practicing, fine tuning...I was torn on whether or not to do it digitally or traditionally. The idea, in my opinion, would probably fair better in the traditional realm of arts...but by me saying that it throws down a gauntlet **CLANG!**. I've decided to do two pieces, one digitally, one traditionally. See which one comes out better. I don't know if that is crazy, but I think it's not. My thinking, they will be different. Arting traditionally and digitally are two different beasties. While my digital program simulates traditional the best it can...at the end of the day, it does an amazing job of simulating, but it's just that a simulation. I thought to myself, "Self, this is a great opportunity to challenge yourself and get your traditional "fix" out of the way".
Yes, ever since I started my tradoodles, I've been CRAVING doing a traditional piece...craving like ice cream...or chocolate. Mmmm chocolate. The updates may be slim next week because of what I'm undertaking...but if all goes well I will have a digital piece to put up on the stores and a traditional piece to sell. I'll be practicing in my sketchbook...so there will be roughs, as well. A well documented piece. I've found that is what lacks with the digital arting. Many of you love to see the roughs, the lead up to the final piece. Well this time there will be a lead up. The idea is pretty messed up...YAY! I'm excited to get started. It'll be fun to see the results of both pieces. I am going to purposely make them different enough that I don't get bored out of my mind...but similar enough where you can see that it has spawned from the same place in the murky, dark depths of my noggin'.
Well my minions, on that note, I am going to get started. I'm really excited about it. I'll keep you posted.
