We'll start with a sneak sale Society 6 put up but didn't email about. ((sigh)) It does happen, but it is always nice to know ahead of time so I can give you all the heads' up. It's a very specific sale...up to $35 off on wall art and free worldwide shipping on said wall art. I've heard from many clients that the product is very high quality and looks amazing. It usually is the pricier of the products so the sale is a very good one. So if you are finding your walls a bit bare, or just want to do a spring sprucing up of said walls, head over to Society 6 and get in on a good sale. It ends tonight at midnight PST, so time is not on your side. No pressure. Well not from little ol' me, I didn't put the deadline on the sale...I am just the humble middle artist, informing you all of what is going on over at Society 6. You can get there by either clicking the purple text, or the plethora of buttons that are on all the pages, or the home page where I put the special news at. Tons of ways to get to Society 6, I make sure of that.
In other art news, I've been arting. Yay! Some abstract, to warm up, one graphic design piece...specifically for products for Society 6, it just came out...it wasn't planned. An idea stuck in my head...which has led to other ideas that I may pursue in the future. I'm going to start working on one of the rough sketches that are taunting me on my Desktop. I figure it's time...I think I'm going to start on the older sketch...just in that darker and twisteder kind of mood. Both sketches are pretty dark and twisted, but the first one is more twisted than the second. I think the second one has that certain level of cheekiness that lightens it up a bit. The first one, not so much. I know there are other rough sketches brewing in the noggin right now. I may get those down as well before they end up in the void of no return. There may be some customizing of brushes mixed in...
Yes, I do make my own brushes. When I find I'm lacking a certain look or feel, I go in and see what I can do to remedy that. Doesn't always work, I am by no means an expert at making brushes, but I have had some really amazing successes. Brushes I tend to overuse at times. Yeah, it's kind of exciting when you take a brush and totally revamp it to your own needs. It's nice to have the option (and there are TONS of those) to be able to go from a small tweak to a totally different brush that is nothing like the original. It was one of the biggest selling points for me to use Corel Painter 2017. There are tons of other reasons, but that was one of the key factors of me settling in on that program. There was another program I was considering after seeing a review from one of the Corel Master Painters that I follow (and he follows me on Twitter, how cool is that?!) and get a lot of my information. From tutorials to product reviews. I trust this guy. I almost got the other program, but I decided not to. The price point was great, it all boiled down to the fact I haven't even dented the mastering of Painter. I don't want to start another program to learn, although it does look a lot more basic and easy...but that being said, there have been quite a few programs I DO own that I thought that about. I'll stick to Painter, it truly does whatever you want...and if you aren't seeing what you want, you can make it. Okay that was a ramble...oops. I did give fair warning.
In non-digital art news...I am planning to make some dolls super duper creepier than they already are. I'm not sure when...the ideas are there. They are pretty creepy to start with. Some will involve painting and possibly sewing new outfits...the other one is very creepy and I had an idea to amp it up a notch or 10. I know I'd have to take it down when the kidlets' do come to visit me...this thing is scary enough...doing what I want to do (If that happens there will be pictures) will take it to a traumatizing level for kidlets...and possibly some adults. Creepy dolls...yay!! I just need to set some time aside as I won't be selling these, since they are from my late Nana. I think she'd approve of me making them creepier.
In other news, I'll be attempting to workout after the Sunday injury, today. Granted, I'll be taking it easier and will be modifying. The knee is feeling pretty stable. This weather wonkiness isn't helping, but workout I must, even if it's on the lighter side. I'm also hoping to update my profile pictures soon. That will probably be more of a next week thing. My Dad and I attempted the all mighty "selfie" last week. I know where my lack of photogenicness comes from. They were the silliest of pictures and we did have fun taking them. They won't be seeing any social media sites but I'm for sure keeping them for memories.
On that eye straining note, minions, I will leave you will good wishes for a weekend that is fast approaching and a slow and peaceful weekend. I am not sure if I'll be blogging on Friday, I never really do. Right now, it's no...there have been inquiries for the Friday blog, but if I don't have much to say, that can be dangerous for the eyes...we'll see, I'll leave you in suspense...will I? Won't I? It's a mystery....
