I am going to be showing and telling on Facebook the Trad-Diggy piece that I put up on my store on Monday. It will not be the promo link...for that you can either check the last blog, the homepage here, Twitter or Facebook....while you're there, you may as well like/follow so you can keep up to date....aaaaand get me closer to the 200 mark. Yup, we are getting closer...and I will be a broken record of epic proportions until we hit that number...we can so do this minions!! I have the utmost confidence in you. I'm a bit nervous of the debut...because it's been a long time since I've done any character design...and this one, while started off a traditional sketch moved into the murky, unknown waters of digital. I think it's really cute...and slightly creepy.
I am currently working on one that is insanely cute...so far...and a bit disturbing. I'm keeping it a bit light...for now. Ease you in...slowly...I did get a very dark piece arted this week. I think I'll be putting it up next week...pure digital, abstract. Letting the canvas speak to me. What it looked like at the start and then the finish was a very big difference. Was trying a new style...and well...it ended up different...not the style I was going for, but I think it was better. So there is arting going on...there will be some sketching today, I hope, too. Again...tons of ideas...the motivation is slowly creeping back...a few of the motivational gnomes must have gotten the memo to come visit. It's not full out, but much better than the past week...I still think it's the lack of play time.
The creepy cute seems to be the theme for the trad sketches. Which is totally fine with me. I started off as a cartoonist. Needless to say, that is where I'm most comfortable when doing traditional sketches. Who am I to question? I'm hoping to really get the digital transformation down...while retaining the integrity of what I used to do traditionally. Not everything was creepy and cute...some of it was more creepy...because it was done in cartoon style. I like that I'm versatile like that...can do cartooning...and then whip out a dark abstract piece...or a fractal. They all seem to retain my "style" that elusive word for us artists'.
On that note, my minions, I promised short...and well for me this is kind of short. Kind of. Hope you all are having a great week and the Friday of freedom arrives quickly for you! Be sure to check the Facebook for the debut...Until next time...Toodles!
