So finally got Society 6 to work and the newer-ish piece has been up since Tuesday, for all those that were checking FB and Twitter out, ignore this. Except this part...there's a sale going on at Society 6. Woohoo! Who doesn't love a sale?! I know I sure don't...not sure I have met anyone that has said, "Sale...pffft, I'd much rather get it for full price." **read that in a snooty patootie voice** Anyways, so there is a sale and a lot of arty art news.
In arty art news...I finally finished calibrating the brushes...well most of them. There are some base sets that I will never use, and if I decide to, well there will be a bridge to burn when that time comes. Also a few of the brush sets that lagged beyond belief. Weird, since 99% of the sets don't have a lick of lag. Only one purchased set is laggy beyond use, I will be going over that one again, in time. It's not a go to set.
Anyways, I have finally started creating the piece I had rough sketched out for about a month for Matt Steady. It's getting created, for real! Check his music out, it's good, and unique and I like it!! That and he's a very good guy. On this piece I decided to stomp on my comfort zone of go to brushes and decided not to use a go to unless I absolutely have to if it makes the piece look right. So far, no go to brushes have been used. It's been quite a challenge as the blender I'm using for a certain part is also a stand-a-lone brush. So I'm having to switch colours while blending. But the texture was what I wanted...needed...so the challenge begins...the actual base brush I'm using is also a stand-a-lone blender. Okay, stand-a-lone means you can paint with it AND blend with it. For those curious. My terms I know are also outside of the box, for the most part. I'm really excited to see where the piece takes me, and I'm really just super happy to be arting again. Before this was done, I told the hubby I don't think I can create anymore, just calibrate brushes...
Which I plan on doing...see that subtle segue right there?! Right there is some good shit! Either way when I get caught up and the dust settles on my backlog of things that need to be created I am planning on making my own brushes. From scratch...and then creating a piece solely from that brush set and selling them. Remember I also sell digital files if Society 6 doesn't tickle your fancy. The files come with a little contract of don't reproduce them, except for personal use, don't sell the files...or give it away, give it away, give it away n...I mean give them away for free. Sorry a song got stuck.
This week...yeah...it's going to be busy to say the very least. I don't know what we'll be up to, but I know there is a Dad day...but that's just the tip of the iceberg...so if there are any cruise liners reading this...be careful...there's icebergs in this here blog, too soon? Probably...but well there it is. So incredibly busy week, I'm looking forward to tackling now that it's not a hellfire trap outside.
Another subtle segue, points to me! The weather has been like a vampire. Sucking your very essence out of you. For those that live in the tropical climates...hats off to you. We had heat warnings every single day last week, and poppers (not chips, storms) which missed us for the most part. It was melt your face off hot. I'd say the temps, but I don't want to do F and C...too busy for that. It's finally over, for now, although I do see it's going to come back...I'm just enjoying non-A/C weather for the time being. I am not a fan of air conditioning...it makes me feel a bit closed in and trapped. I feel like all winter with the windows shut up is enough...I want some fresh air!!
On that note, minions, before I get too windbaggy on you...I wish you a very happy week, with coffee and peace. Until next time...I bid you an adieu!
