Is it just me or did January just go extremely slow...like sands through an hourglass...so are the days...ummm never mind that last bit. Seriously, January seemed to just drag on and on and on, did I mention and on?! Usually it's I blink and hey there goes a month. Where did that month go? I look for it, under the couch, in the closets, no month. This one just seems to have a Vulcan death grip on the calendar. I'm glad to say it's over and there are plans for the art, the stores. I figure what better time to fill you all in than at the end of a month, or the beginning of another, depending on your perspective on things.
The plans are still in a rough sort of phase. More like experiments...to just see what happens. If for any reason you think one of my experiments or plans are not great, leave a comment here or contact me on the home page. There has to be a logical reason behind it, not just no. I do not accept no without a logical reason behind said no. I'll try and explain some reasoning behind the plans...but they are set...I do have the right to change them at any time. depending on how things are working out. Thankfully, there aren't too many plans, so you probably won't need eye drops.
The major plan involves my stores. This is the experiment I was talking about. I'll say right now I am NOT closing any of the stores, right now. As many of you know, all of you should, since there are link buttons splattered all over this site, I run three stores. They offer different products, and a different vibe. For one month...so the entire month of February, I will only be updating Society 6. Why you ask? Because I think they offer the best products, for my art. Crated is amazing, but it only offers your standard hang up on the wall kind of stuff. It has amazing quality stuff, but very focused. Fine Arts just got into the adding products on recently, and frankly, they haven't quite mastered it, in my opinion. The quality again is high, but for me, there is not enough edit options on the products they offer, not guaranteeing the art I put up is the best for you...and in my eyes you, my minions, are important. Without you, I would still be an artist, buuut it really wouldn't be the same. **insert mushy feelings stuff here** Society 6, again this is MY opinion, seems to give me the most control over what I can put the art on and they are quite specific on sizing...so it's a bit more lengthy process of getting things up (and a bit of a hold before they show up) but when they do go up the product is customized. From the buyers' that have bought, they have contacted me (which is super cool because I have no clue who buys what, it's all very anonymous) and shown me product and raved about said product, I just feel that's the best route for you. In turn, makes me happy that you are happy getting my art. It offers everything the other two stores offer...very good quality, they have a lot of promotions and sales that the other two don't and they have a similar vibe to me.
I have done a TON of research on stores, hours, days...months. With you, my minions, in mind. See the above mushy feelings stuffs. I have decided to not update the other two sites, just for the month. Focus on Society 6, and give it full attention. I'll be overhauling all three stores. If you saw something you like...either get it in the next few days, or contact me so I can make sure to keep it up. I will not be closing any. Yes, I know, I sound like a broken record right now, but I want to reassure that while there will be changes, they aren't crazy major. This is an experiment...if I like what I see, then I may keep the stores open, but just not update them, anymore. I am all for hard work, roll up your sleeves, grease your elbows...where in the hell did that saying come from?! I also want to use my time wisely, update days take me anywhere from 2 to 5 hours to do. Again, there is no whining here. I just think if I could update in say 1 to 3 hours....that's a lot more time to art...which means more goodies for you! It is not out of laziness...but more out of efficiency. Get the most out of my time.
The next plan is I will be, every month or maybe every other week (the time has not been established) updating art on this site. The older stuff. The latest and greatest will be on Society 6 (for now). There is an update waiting for you. Be sure to check it out. Be sure to check all the links out, you never know what you'll find.
My final plan is doing more traditional as well as digital. A very fine balance beam, tight rope thing that I will master. I said this in an earlier blog, so I won't focus too much on it. I actually cleaned my studio up last night to better work in the spaces I have. It was cringe worthy. I found some very old sketches, and roughs, which made me smile and wince. I've come a very long way. Poe (the black fuzzy thing in my profile picture) has gotten a good dusting and doesn't look like he is aging. Perhaps I'll do my own little "Throwback Thursday" and show you guys very old art I have done. Any thoughts on that? Comment or Contact, please.
Well my minions, on that note, you may actually need those eye drops after all. Enjoy the updates and your weekend, although I'm sure you'll see me before the end of the weekend...
