We'll continue the tried and true format of arty art news, followed by the other stuff, so that those minions that aren't into the other stuff can skip on by, although if you do, you can miss out on some shenangians'. Just saying, no pressure.
I finally got my safety net up and on Society 6. That in and of itself is an accomplishment. I really didn't have a clue how much I was hoarding until I decided not to hoard anymore. Wow. The sale on Society 6 did extend until tonight @ 11:59pm PST so head on over, there are pages of new art to be seen on tons of product. I added 3 new pieces as well on Society 6 this morning. They are newer-ish. More my new style than the pure abstract. Speaking of....
I have been enamoured by some art on the Twitter lately. It's called Fluid Painting. Turns out, it's not as technical as I thought it was AND I was doing it digitally with a blender brush I custom made. Huge **facepalm** I still think it's amazing to look at despite the lack of actual focus and technical know-how. Yes, I know it sounds pretentious. Maybe it is...but for ME and I truly do believe art is very personal...I got bored with doing abstract...it wasn't satisfying. That being said, I do plan on trying to make abstract more interesting for me to do, so I will be mixing it up with Surrealism, Abstract and even some landscapes. Mixing styles and digital media to see what gets me focused. I admit I do get distracted by shiny objects, easily...I have plans for the arting of artiness.
I actually got to ART this week...not a whole lot as I was pushing the rest of the hoarded art out. (remember it's on Society 6) I got to work on the piece that was collecting virtual dust...and it took a bit for me to get into it...my focus isn't 100% there, but I'm still coming down from massive uploading on Society 6. I have a lot of plans for the current piece and pieces that haven't even made it to the rough digital sketch file. Rest assured, minions, they are actually in a traditional sketchbook so they are safe and will be remembered. It was really nice actually arting again. I get very focused on one task and everything else just fades away.
Onto other news...so those minions that don't like the non-art stuff you can go now. With a hearty adieu...for those that are staying...we had the gaming session last night. We had a few cancellations, but the game went on. They got through a LOT and initially I was afraid for them as I had planned the session for more than 3 players...they are clever and quick thinkers...and as a GM, DM whatever, I will never punish players for a good plan. Boy, they were filled with them...they got through the older session for the most part...and the part I planned for this session was not touched. I know I'm going to have to up my game...that just seemed too easy...although we were all having fun and laughing our asses off and progressing further than we have in awhile. It was good times, followed by a sleep deprivation hangover for me. Not too severe, but it's there.
This week isn't going to be very busy, so that means a lot of arting, yay! Hoping to finish the current piece up, although there is a LOT of detail going on...and clean up. Clean up on Tendril 4! Well it's actually tendril 1, as I just started on them...Look a hint, a little niblet of what the piece looks like. I never show an unfinished piece. For many reasons. Mainly because, it takes the mystery out of the piece. I don't like giving up the process...even though I've been told a few times to do a podcast of me arting. I don't think that's me. It's more feasible as you'd be just staring at a recording of my art program with a voice over of me explaining what the hell I'm doing...that being said...with editing and scripting and stuff I have no clue about how to do a video like that, not going to happen. I will let the mystery remain with all it's mysteriousness.
On that rambling note and moderate eye strain, I shall bid you and adieu until the day that is hump. Toodles!
