First and foremost there are a ton of sales going on over at Society 6, I've been watching them because my vacation was more of a workcation. I've uploaded 4 new pieces and plan on uploading more before the Black Friday. I haven't been notified of any of the sales, but I know Society 6 is ramping up, there are some good deals going on. So, head on over, take part in the amazing sales...the pieces are on a ton of product, I linked them to Wall Art because it'd be easier to see them in their natural glory, but they look amazing on the products. Great unique gifts for you, or someone you love. Plus you'll be supporting an artist instead of a big box store. Okay shameless plug is over, for now, and we'll get into the nitty and gritty of my week off.
It was a workcation...I wanted to upload a ton of new art for the sale of all sales...wow have we become commercial. I digress, I had issues with the interwebs, which it still needs a visit from the tech, but things are up and running, thankfully. The first day of uploads, I couldn't do anything...my upload speed was worse than beginning dial-up. It was bad. I did manage to get four pieces up, almost 5 but I will be uploading more this week. If everything goes according to plan. Here's hoping. One of the new pieces I actually put on product I generally avoid, T-shirts, tanks, hoodies, etc. I really want to start utilizing those products.
In other workcation news, I did a lot of research for another store to open. Sadly, the reviews are bad for you, or they will steal from me. No win. I had a scathingly brilliant idea of opening an Ecommerce store, but right now, the funds aren't there to do that. I really need a new Wacom tablet and there are other household things, gifts, etc. that are preventing me from investing in a risk vs. reward kind of thing. That being said, I am offering digital files for sale, if you see something you like on Society 6 but want your printer to do it, message or contact me. There will be some restrictions, basically personal use only, I will own the rights' to the pieces. I don't give up the rights' easily. Most of the art I still have somewhere, but the really super early stuff, I probably won't have anymore. Told you I was busy....
In more art news, I know right? I have stepped out of my comfort zone, again and am starting to create my first Mandala. I have seen them for awhile, always been enchanted by them and decided, why not? So far, I've gotten stuck a few times. I am planning on doing a few or until I decide no more. It's coming along slowly...but I'm doing it. I would have to say it has to be easier digitally than traditionally and hats off to the artists' that do them traditionally without a Spirograph. Remember those? They're back! Even being stuck, I'm really loving the arting of it. I'm learning and I will be putting it up on more wearable swag when it's done. I did use some of my digital tools, but I'm now at a point where I'm doing things by digital hand. I am learning to think differently, going way outside of my normal art.
I think the art talk is done. In other news...I did actually take a bit of a break. One of my favourite games dropped an early access expansion. Don't Starve Hamlet. I'm having way too much fun and getting motion sick as an added bonus! I'm getting more used to the game, so less motion sickness. Such a campy, kitschy game that is just way too fun to die on. Oh and I've died, many, many times, in ways that just crack me up. Damn glowfly bugs!! It's the hardest expansion, yet...and sooo much fun. Also, catching up on my reading. I'm almost done with my current book and I'll be reading The Princess Bride next. Weird that the author died, after I had just ordered the book. I love the movie...and since he wrote the screenplay and the book...well I just had to get it. I'm so far behind on my reading.
In UGH NOOOOO! news...the hubby has the plague and I feel like I'm getting it. Noooooooo!!!! With a Dad day this week, I'm really hoping I can scare the plague out of me with buckle-knees, rest and I'm hoping to make some chicken noodle soup. This was not a great time to get sick, especially for the hubby...but I'm a giant baby when I get it. For me it could swing either way, for the hubby, too late. UGH!! Time for me to go into Super Wifey of Healing mode and get him better for Black Friday. I'm hoping I dodge it and still have a Day of Dad.
On that very, very long blog. I warned you. Please check out Society 6 and their amazing sales, or contact me if you want a digital copy(ies) to take to your own printer. I am off to start my day! I hope you all have a wonderful week, and for the US minions, Happy Turkey Day! Toodles until next week!
