There are no new pieces up on Society 6 this week, but there is a great sale that ends tonight at midnight PST. You'll need the promo code: ART25OFF. I know you are probably wondering why no new art and we will get to that very soon. As in now!
This past week was insanely busy. Fun, but busy. I did manage to finish the piece I was working on which is a huge YAY!!! I did not, however, have the time to resize and get it uploaded...BOO!!! I was kind of expecting that to happen. It felt weird, I'll admit it, but it also felt good not to stress out over the lack of time. I'm kind of liking my new changes I've brought in for the new year. It's for sure taking a lot of pressure off of me.
Currently, I am finishing up the commission for my Dad. It should be done in a day or so. I have tons of ideas for the next piece. The piece that didn't make it up on Society 6 will be making it up there next Monday. It's going to be less busy this week. I also promised the hubby that I would update his Facebook avatar. The one he has is from my traditional art days, it will still be creepy, because that's how we roll, but it'll be digitally creepy. I'll be splitting my time between a full piece and his avatar. I could have done that with my Dad's but I didn't. I say I'll be splitting my arting up but I probably won't. While I can do several projects at once, I do like to give all my pieces my complete focus so that the other pieces don't bleed into each other. That happens. Or I'll just not finish one. That happens, too.
So what had me so busy that I couldn't upload my latest piece?! Well I had a Day of Dad, which as always was fun, but we did do a lot of running around. The very next day my dearest friend, sister, came out with her kids' and she is due very soon, so this will be the last visit for awhile. It was very fun and chaotic. No one got hurt, except for me this time. I don't know how she or any other mother does it. I was bruised, sore and happy...the next day I was even more sore and just took the day to relax and work on my Dad's piece. Then the yesterday, the day I upload....we had a gaming session.
The game had it's hiccups and it's moments...we hadn't seen each other since before the holidays' so there was a lot more shenanigans' than actual play. This is a common theme. We cut it short so I'm not too sleep deprived hangover-ish....but it's still there. We had the full group there, and there's a lot of chaos when that happens. I do feel as a DM that I don't give my players' equal time...it's usually the dominant ones that get most of the attention. I'm going to try and fix that, if I can. We have a back to back session, so this coming Sunday is another session. Possibly a player coming off of the trial period. It sounds really harsh...but I really want a group that WANTS to play and tries. So far I have that. There's some learning to do yet, for me too, but I do think it's a solid group, even with all the shenanigans'. Hoping next session will be more play less goofing around. I don't mind the goofing around, but we did have a limit on time. I'm not sure if we have one this weekend. I do know not 3am.
Those and many more boring mundane stuff are the reasons I wasn't able to upload any new art. I will spare you the mundane stuff, because it's boring adulting stuff. On a very cool and surprising note (for me) my Dad surprised me with a HP Lovecraft calendar! How cool is that?! I have/had a Salvador Dali calendar. Lovecraft won. He'll always win. Always. My Dad's reasoning...it was more me. I was told I am sick and twisted in the head, last night, and I took that as a compliment. I am sick and twisted in the head...it's part of me and drives my arting.
On that note, minions, there will be a new piece up next week. It's creepy and twisted...I really loved working on it. All the time spent, well worth it. I hope you all have a fantastical week and weekend. I will see you on the Monday!
