A lot of new pieces up on Society 6. They're having some technical issues right now, so there are 2 pieces that aren't quite showing up yet, but in time...they always pull through. The safety net is slowly disappearing. I am thinking of doing a double upload today, depending on how goopy my arms are after I workout. So make sure you check back later. I'm just flooding Society 6 right now with old art. I still marvel at where I was, to where I am...and just brings back memories of enjoying the pieces, remembering them and kind of what was going on when I was arting them.
Okay, so not much arting has been done lately. There is a kind of good reason behind it, but more me just being busy and then lazy. Maybe a bit of procrastination, too. Plus I'm still rallying behind the Keeping of YouTube Creepy. I haven't been able to get much more news from Rob Dyke on his Twitter account. I'm sure other creepy content creators' are also on the warpath, but since I usually only get a chance to watch a bit of YouTube, and it's mainly his stuff, I'm limited to who I rally behind, I stand behind all the creepy content, true crime creators on YouTube, but I may not have found them yet. I do admire the tenacity and the integrity of him not giving up. The fight is on...if ever I needed back up (peanut gallery is an automatic pick) for anything like that in my art, I'd want him to be in my corner. Wow, did this paragraph go WAAAAY off topic. Oops. Basically, I've been busy, lazy and procrastinating a bit...plan on arting more today.
Here comes the rant...so as all of you minions know, I'm also on Twitter. Met a lot of really amazing folks and fellow artists there. It's been a very positive experience until....**insert sinister music here** I got a follower that wanted to talk. Mind you, I always thank everyone for following me, maybe not in a timely fashion, but I do try my best. This specific person I did not follow back as there was nothing to follow. I instantly get a DM (not dungeon master, direct message) asking to talk...I said sure...very perplexed...I have a few people that I do talk to on a somewhat regular basis, but this was weird. He just automatically went into he was in the US military and a widow with a 17 year old son, sending pictures, asking me for pictures...weird, right? That's what I thought. If I didn't respond right away he'd spam the hell out of my Twitter, to a point where I had to turn the go to email option off. I'm talking 20+ emails...Intrigue, mystery...I follow along, very skeptical at this point...the next day, less than 24 hours after the initial conversation he is professing his love to me, even though he knows about peanut gallery and I, and how we are encroaching our 10th anniversary. Doesn't matter...at this point the song "Let Me Go" pops in my head. I blew my cool at this point...after a bit of Google Fuing, typing in what little information I had, and BAM Military Romance Scam, the actual name given and widow and 17 year old son was top on the Google-Fu. Grrrr...So I head to the FTC website and they have instructions...which I did follow....trying to bait him out...I do admit he was good...in the end I just blocked and reported him. They are right up there with the Nigerian prince email scams...I just had never heard of this one. It peeves me that they have the audacity to scam and pretend to be in the military...even stealing pictures from soldiers in the military. Preying on women and men, too. From what I read a lot of money has been lost to these twatwaffles. Yes, I went there. I had my radar up as soon as the can we talk message hit. I'm many things, stupid I'm not. I was very tempted to string him along, but seriously, I didn't have time...oh and he said he was from around my area, but stationed in Kabul, Afghanistan. Weird he was always sending me messages, even with the 8 1/2 hour time difference...I'm sure real military personnel don't have that luxury or leisure time to do that. Booger eating moron. So, my minions, you may have already known about this scam, but for those that don't, keep your red flags handy. You can and it's strongly recommended that you report them directly to the FTC. They are trying to get these guys shut down...but like cockroaches, kill one scam and 10 more pop up.
Whew, rant over...and a public service announcement, all in one nifty, albeit long rant. On that note, and minor eye strain, I shall bid you an adieu until Monday...Happy weekend!!
