It was a long day, yesterday. Made great time, even taking our time, but focusing at the tasks at hand. We (the husband and I) got all the holiday shopping done. Upon getting home I got the presents all wrapped and by wrapped I mean tissue paper and holiday bags. I suck at wrapping, oddly my hubby has a super secret super power of being insanely good at it. I found this out LAST year. I was enthralled by this skill, wondering where ever did he attain the Gift Wrapping of +5 ability (for the nerds you will know what I'm talking about, for non-nerds, it's akin to professional but better)? It's a mystery. I digress, while I was doing that he was making the supper. Yes, he cooks amazing, too. I'm a pretty lucky wife, I know it.
I did art a bit yesterday, before our epic adventures. The keys' have been found, I'm not 100% happy with what I'm arting. At this point, I'm just happy to be arting anything at all. Just the ability to be able to create something instead of just staring at my digital canvas for hours upon end, the frustration and anger building, I'll take it. A few have already hit the recycle bin. That I'm used to doing. I think I go through a bit of this every year around this time, the constant busy, bustling, go, go, go, now, now, now. I know the key is to slow down.
So the epic adventures weren't very epic, to me it was, just for the sheer fact I made it through the mobs of people. I know it's nothing compared to the mobs (literally) on Black Friday or Boxing Day, I am not as desensitized as others to crowds, a kind of downfall, I suppose, working from home...half the time in my jammies! The upside is not being around crowds...a double edged sword.
Until next time, my minons...
