Onto the arty art news, which segue's really nicely...sort of...how about it segue's nicely for my noggin' monsters. Abstract vs. Surreal....I have been tracking numbers...not as OCD as before but I still do keep an eye out on them. I guess it does depend on what site I am checking, but the Abstract pieces seem to be a lot more popular than my newer stuff. I am enjoying do the surreal landscape pieces...which is conflicting because I do want you minions to have what you want. I've decided to mash them up a bit...and see where that goes. I really do need to grow and learn other genres of art. All about the versatility, though I do think some would argue. For me, I LOVE to learn...not just arty art stuff but about pretty much anything. My bookshelves do not lie, nor do the tubs of books in the closet of no return. Speaking of learning...
I was watching a Rob Dyke video the other day that was sponsored by Duolingo. The video was creeptastic...as always...but the app is where I'm going. I did want to give credit to how I learned about the app, because I try and give props where I can. It's what I do. I digress, I am LOVING this app. I could read a lot and understand German before this app. Now I'm actually dreaming in German. My latest dream was English words were falling out of my ears and I could only speak in German but everyone else couldn't. It's totally free, though you can pay for a no ad, offline version. I may do it. I've been driving the hubby insane by messaging him in German. Even have a German/English keyboard on my phone. I do find myself even typing in German. The backspace button is getting a workout. When I get solidly capable in German I will be learning another language...I think I'll be learning a lot of them...the app makes it FUN! You're gaining XP and there are challenges...They seem to be adding languages, too. I'm not sure which is next, but I highly recommend the app. I'm not being sponsored by it...but it's just really a great app and makes it fun to learn.
Whoops....I forgot to mention in the arty art section...that I am still selling digital files and if you do want to support me, you can head over to the support tab and do just that. You'd think a digital artist needs nothing...well that's not quite true. Nibs wear down, tablets start to break down...plus I might just start a vlog if I can get the funds together to get the software I need. Plus the PC lobotomies. The upfront costs are insane...I know traditional art seems to be more expensive, but I think when you look at the bigger picture they do even out. I do still do traditional art...it's where I started. Okay I swear this is the last shameless plug.
In the last of more news. The day of Dad was great...low key. We were teasing each other a lot. Which always makes for an interesting day. A game session is coming up this Sunday...we are still trying to find our core group...but we do have an added member, on probation, that is completely new to the D&D world but wow is she a natural at role playing. She just dove in head first...I would rather have a strong role player with lack of mechanic knowledge than vice versa. We can teach mechanics...The group is filling out nicely and I'm hoping this weekend will round the group out. I have a bit of planning to do...which will be in the next few days. It won't be much...but I do need to remain a step ahead...
On that long, long, long...note...I shall bid you an adieu and wish your eyes a speedy recovery. Until the day that is hump....
